A heavy-duty FX piece, shot on RED One. The offline editing was done in Avid at Work Post, then onlined in After Effects by us. This was our first serious RED project, but it went very smoothly - which was a pleasant surprise. I've written up some notes on the workflow and posted an AE conform script here if you want to find out more.
Once the timeline was conformed, the VFX heavy lifting began in After Effects. There was a lot of keying involved and the subject matter (a girl in a shiny reflective gold suit) certainly didn't make it easy! Fortunately Keylight and Composite Wizard came through with sterling results as usual and there wasn't huge amounts of roto required for most shots. The Nebulas were created using a mixture of fractal noise, particles (created using Trapcode Particular, Form and 3D Stroke) and some photographic material.
The opening shot of the runway was a very difficult shot to acheive. I had orginally planned to build it in LIghtwave, but ultimately I was able to create it entirely in After Effects. I worked for many days to create the soft organic feel of the lighting and movement of this section.
