The Friendly Fires "Paris"
Dir. Price James, November 2007
High speed photography always looks cool doesn't it?
In the case of this promo, the high speed photography was shot digitally using a Phantom camera - a very nifty piece of electronics that supports 7000fps aquisition
We did the all the comping and cleanup on this promo. The "blobs" are all latex water balloons, for which we had to paint out the "tails". The back screen needed quite a bit of masking to remove specular highlights - which had the added bonus of giving it quite an unusual high contrast look. We also added particles and glows to the final chorus to boost the magical atmosphere. The final piece was then graded in baselight.
