This track has a 60's/Byrds-like quality and we wanted to achieve a look that was retro enough to suit the song without descending into some kind of sub-austin powers parody. It was shot on DV-Cam using a rotating rig setup. Once the Final Cut edit was finalised, it was passed to me for re-working in After Effects. During the course of development it became apparent that it was a much more complex effects-heavy piece than had originally been envisioned, so I decided to rebuild the entire edit in After Effects. This gave me a huge amount of freedom to work into it visually and build some really rich layered transitions and dissolves. I've tried to give it a nice analogue feel, with much use made of simulated optical mattes, burns and multiple exposures.
